THE MIDNIGHT SUN

The beach under
the midnight sun
sleeps neath it’s blanket sea,
and I,
toe across it’s grains
to gaze upon it’s innocence;
the violent waves
have calmed to rest,
it’s sand has molded from the day,
from wandering feet
and pups at play;
a roar of wind now a zephyr-

A lute in the distant meadow;
and mind barbaric
neath the shine
now exhausts its sighs to zen.
