VENT #8 (Mitch Albom – Tuesday With Morrie)

Ah, it was really nice to watch the candle through a glass of wine,
Dreaming dreams together when the quiet night was yours and mine;
Just a pair of fools wrapped up in love just dancing from the fire,
Till the morning light would whisper in the sky.

I’m learning to let things go. To stop fighting so hard for things that aren’t happening, to stop trying so hard to win everything and everyone. To stop conforming to a society that’s never content.

Floating inside my mind. The sea of thoughts, suffocating. With infinite stream of consciousness, taking me to places I’ve never been. Dark, cold, and quite.

Maybe your journey is not about finding love, maybe it’s about loving yourself. Maybe it’s about rebuilding yourself or maybe it’s about walking away.

“Tears are okay

[Morrie Schwartz]”
Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie

“Silence was his escape, but silence is rarely a refuge.”
Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven

“It’s very simple. As you grow, you learn more. If you stayed twenty-two, you’d always be as ignorant as you were at twenty-two. Aging is not just decay, you know. It’s growth. It’s more than the negative that you’re going to die, it’s also the positive that you understand you’re going to die, and that you live a better life because of it.”
Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie

“Holding anger is a poison…It eats you from inside…We think that by hating someone we hurt them…But hatred is a curved blade…and the harm we do to others…we also do to ourselves.”
Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven

“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they’re busy doing things they think are important. This is because they’re chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”
Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie

“Accept who you are; and revel in it.”
Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie

“Love is how you stay alive, even after you are gone.”
Mitch Albom

“Sometimes when you sacrifice something precious, you’re not really losing it. You’re just passing it on to someone else.”
Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven

“The truth is, once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.”
Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie

“If you hold back on the emotions–if you don’t allow yourself to go all the way through them–you can never get to being detached, you’re too busy being afraid. You’re afraid of the pain, you’re afraid of the grief. You’re afraid of the vulnerability that loving entails. But by throwing yourself into these emotions, by allowing yourself to dive in, all the way, over your heard even, you experience them fully and completely.”
Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie

“I like myself better when I’m with you.”
Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie

“The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone.”
Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven – Meniti Bianglala

“There are no random acts…We are all connected…You can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind…”
Mitch Albom, The Five People You Meet in Heaven

“No life is a waste,” the Blue Man said. “The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we’re alone.”
Mitch Albom

“Don’t cling to things because everything is impermanent.”
Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie

“What is it about silence that makes people uneasy?”
Morrie Schwartz
